This is the last one, I promise
I know I just posted that I wouldn't be doing this anymore; but I forgot to tell what I got for Mother's day. I got a beautiful bookcase with glass doors to use for all my Precious Moments figurines. The bookcase was from Fireball and I got the curtains that I wanted for the large baywindow in the kitchen from the kids. I had a great Mother's day and I loved the cards that I got too. So, goodbye for now....
Goodbye for now...
I will not be posting any updates for a while, I just don't have the time to do it anymore. Things are just to chaotic right now. I do not have much time for myself and what time I do have is very limited, so I can't spend it on here. So for now, this will be the last entry for a while. I'm not sure how long of a break I will be taking but it may be for a few weeks, depending on how things settle around the casa. Sorry to disappoint anyone, but I don't think many people read this anyway. So long for a long time.....

Growin' up
So much has happened since my last post. Mr. Beans is starting to talk even more clear than before. Tatertot is moving along as well as she can. She scoots on her butt across the floor and is really interested in standing up. When she is sitting on the floor, she bends all the way over and sucks on her big toes. She has such a personality already. She can be mean at times. She picks on her brother at times when he gets near her. She pulls his hair and hits and pinches. But in her defense, Mr. Beans does like to pat her on the head like a dog. She has hated that since she was born; so now it is her turns to get her licks in while she can. We have two cars now, so no more waiting for Fireball to get home or to bring the car home for us to go away. Freedom!!!! We are going to the library ever Thurs. morning for storytime. Tatertot is even getting interested in the stories. Between stories Ms. Betty does songs and stuff with the kids. Mr. Beans favorite is head, shoulder, knees and toes. He really likes it when they do it fast. Yesterday was the first time he did it on his own there without any help from me. He is growing up so fast. Tatertot has two teeth now. She just got her second one yesterday. It hasn't been more than 2 or 3 weeks since she got her first one. She is continously talking. She even talks in her sleep. Must run in the family because Mr. Beans and Fireball do it too. Come to think of it, they all snore too. Must be from their dad's side of the family. Well, today we are going to meet my friend S and her two kids at McDonald's for lunch and to play at the playplace. Our playgroup was suppose to meet on Wed. at the park here in town, but it started raining early in the morning and didn't stop in time to go for lunch and playing at the park. We have been trying to get together since before Easter for our playgroup to meet and let the kids burn off some energy but either the weather hasn't cooperated or the rotavirus had struck some off the kids and we stay away from that; I don't need two kids with the runs and pucking, especially since I just had the carpets cleaned. Well, here's to hoping today is a good day. Thanks for stopping by...

I will survive....maybe
As I sit here and type Tatertot is sitting on our bed playing with the big plastic bag that our new comforter came in. I know, you shouldn't let babies play with that kind of stuff, but I'm right here and she likes to crumple it and shake it to make noise. She is all smiles. Lately, she is up at nights multiple times to nurse; which isn't so bad since she sleeps in our bed (oh no the horror, babies are to sleep in their own beds, well, Mr. Beans slept in our bed and he is now a well adjusted 2 1/2 yr old boy who sleeps great in his own bed) but, when I need to switch sides for her to nurse I actually have to wake up and move. This isn't condusive to peaceful sleep for me. Fireball will sleep through a train going through our bedroom. Mr. Beans' newest thing is to climb into the playpen with his sister.
Yesterday, I had the car while Fireball was at work and that meant I had to pick him up also. So, the kids' naps were cut short and it was sooo much fun trying to get everyones coats and shoes on and Tatertot fell over on the kitchen floor while I was putting my shoes on and screamed bloody murder. I hope that someday soon we will get a second car for Fireball to use for work.
As I said, I will survive....maybe

Just one of THOSE days!!!
UHH, have you ever had one of THOSE days where everything is chugging along just fine and then SMACK! I was fortunate enough to have on of THOSE days today. All was well in our home, the kids and I got up, we had breakfast, I did a load of laundry like I do every morning in my Flylady routine. I got the kids into the tub for their baths, they were to take one last night, but we had a couple of storms roll through. Midwesterners that we are, knew not to give the kids a bath during the lightning and all the rain; and we thought we might even have a tornado but thankfully we did not. So to continue, baths went right along as well as giving a 2 yr old and 7 month old can go. Everyone was bathed and dressed with no fuss. I continued my Monday morning clean routine, and was vacuuming my bedroom and noticed nothing was being picked up (all the lovely fuzzies that somehow inhabit my house). I emptied the canister thingy from the vacuum and the filter, but still no luck. UUUHHHH, the brush isn't moving. Burnt out and torn belt. Smells great. Luckily, when we bought this vacuum last April it included an extra belt. Handywoman that I am, replaced it and was vacuuming again in no time. Now this is when I should have just went back to bed. I was holding Tatertot and vacuuming because she isn't keen on the idea of being alone when it is running. So, as I am vacuuming in our room, I got to close to the drapes and sucked up one. Now, I put her on the bed, try to shut off the vacuum only to succeed in pulling the drapes down while in the vacuum. Man am I a gluton for punishment. I have not gotten the drapes put back up yet, waiting for the kids to get up from their naps before I go pounding nails into the wall (yes, it even tore them out). Fireball came home for lunch and Mr. Beans succeeded in taking his pants off; his new idea of fun. We all had lunch together at the table. Then Fireball notices that a leg on his chair is loose. Handywoman to the rescue, I fixed it in no time. He went back to work and the kids went down for naps. Now all is calm on the home front until Fireball gets home and the kids get up and we start supper and play before bedtime. Even as I type this, I can't seem to type for a sh*t or spell either; which is a big deal to me, major pet peeve when people can't spell or use the correct word. Example: Nobody like a lyer. Hate it. Thanks for letting me rant. Stop back again soon....

Our weekend
On Saturday, Fireball and I took the kids to a birthday party for a 5 year old at my friend C's house. I have known C since birth, we grew up together up until 3 grade or so and then didn't see each other until college, even though she lived in the small town next to mine. Well, she had Budda Baby in college and I was babysitting at the time and had BB a lot of the time. Fireball and I took her everywhere with us while her mom worked or was at school. People often thought she was ours and it felt that way too. She loves my husband and we love her like she is our own. It is amazing to see her as a little girl who loves shoes, purses and girly dress up stuff. Mr. Beans had fun and everyone is amazed at how big Tatertot is compared to C's 1 year old boy. The parties they have for BB are always family ones, but we are considered family too. It is really a great feeling to be included in C's children's lives. They are always included in our kids lives too. C and her fiance are getting married next April, so that will be fun. Mr. Beans loved the cake, he tried using the fork but gave up and used his hands. Choc. cake everywhere. Gotta love kids birthday parties. Thanks for stopping by...

We continue on
I guess a lot has happened since last month. Tatertot has been sitting up on her own for a month or more. Even though she is only 6 1/2 months old, she is wearing 18 month size jeans and pants. Yes, she is short and compact in size so she doesn't fit into anything smaller than 18 months. I know that it is definetly due to breastfeeding, she is on baby food, too; but it is really due to the breastfeeding. Mr. Beans was the same way, Always over the 95% on the weight chart at all check ups. Now Mr. Beans is where he should be for weight so we aren't worried about her weight and was never worried about Mr. Beans when he was a baby. We are so proud of Mr. Beans. He knows his complete alphabet, he can count to 10 on his own, sometimes he can count higher than that. He also knows his colors and shapes, too. He is getting better at his speaking and talking to us and telling us what he wants or asking things. It is so great, according to the book What To Expect: The Toddler Years, Mr. Beans is far ahead of where he should be. So, that's me puffing out my chest at how great we think our son is. Fireball continues to amaze me as he has had a pain in his lower back and we thought it was a kidney stone, so he went to the doc and test results showed no blood in his urine; an indicator of a kidney stone. Anyways, he is feeling better now and we are hoping that is just a pulled muscle. So, the kids are thriving and amazing me everyday. We continue to go to the library for the storytime and lunch with Mr. Beans friends and today at the library he made a new friend, so hopefully this will continue to be a weekly thing. That's all for now....
Until then.
Until then.

We are still chuggin' along
It has been a while since I wrote anything. Just a quick note to let you all know everyone is doing well and since I have joined The Flylady's website, my house is doing much better, too. I love having zones to clean instead of trying to do the whole house in one day. Take a gander at her website. The address is www.flylady.net, enjoy. It will change your life. No more mts. of laundry and dishes to do. No sprint cleaning when company is on their way over to visit. I actually have time to do some scrapbooking now and have more time to myself. I'll try to write again soon.

Library Storytime 2-9-06
Today we started something new: waking up or getting up in the morning before 10:30 am. I got up at 8:45 and woke up Mr. Beans and Tatertot at 9:30 am. We had breakfast and off to the library for storytime we go. We met up with my friend and her 2 kids: their oldest is 4 months older that Mr. Beans and the youngest is 7 months older than Tatertot. She turned 1 today. Hopefully we can continue to do this every week. Afterwards, we met my friend and her kids at McDonald's for lunch. It was a great time for all.

Possessed Cellphone
I have a possessed cellphone. It has a mind of its own! My phone will spontaneously call the last person that I have either called or has called me. It usually does this when I have it in my pocket on my belt clip. Now you're probably thinking, duh the buttons are exposed. Well, I have a flip phone so the buttons are covered when it is closed. I have Speedtalk which is like a walkie-talkie. The only thing I can figure is that when it is in my pocket, somehow the speedtalk button is pushed along with the side buttons that controls the volume and the button that turns on the driving mode. I'm thinking that somehow a combination of these buttons getting pushed in a certain order makes it call people.
This happened last Thursday when I took Fireball to the doctor to be sure he wasn't afflicted with the plague after his pnuemonia episode. My grandmother was watching Mr. Beans and we took Tatertot with us. She was going to need to nurse while we were there. Apparently my phone called her cellphone(she 68, I think and is so hip having a cellphone :} ) she didn't notice the call but heard the beep for a message we left. Turns out all that she could hear was a lot of talking but couldn't understand anything. So her imagination ran wild, thinking we were in a car wreck and was hurt and couldn't talk and was trying to call for help. She's a bit dramatic and goes to extremes. Turns out, just us at the dr.'s office talking. Did I mention we got to a dr that is out of town. We don't trust the drs here at our hospital. See previous post for reasons why. Uh, love my phone.
Until next time...

Under Attack
It seems as though having Mr. Beans getting sick in his bed wasn't all that has been thrown at us this week. Fireball has been feeling like crap since the Monday that Mr. Beans got sick. He worked 1/2 day on Mon., all day Tues., 1/2 day Wed., all day Thurs. and was home on his deathbed on Fri. He was really sick and then on Sat. he was still out of commission. All the while, he had a very high fever. We're talking 104. F fever. I swear he was dilerious half the time. So, then the fever would drop and finally on Sun. it shot back up. That was the final straw. Time for the ER. Having dealt with pneumonia before when Mr. Beans was a babe, (we caught it in time, he had the beginnings of it, thank you Jesus!), I knew something was up. So called Mr. Beans Godparents to watch him and Tatertot while I took Fireball to the ER.
I would like to take this moment and say that I was correct: Pnuemonia on the left side. Really sucky for Fireball because he also was unfortunate enough to have a father that smoked in the house growing up and is afflicted with asthma. Yes, I am a firm believer in NO SMOKING around children; especially mine!! So while at the fine establishment that is our ER in our town, 1 doctor for the whole ER that day (Really bad reputation at this hospital for negligant care, dumb docs, etc.), they take his b.p. 3 different times sitting, laying down and standing. Then they need BLOOD! Fireball has a great phobia of needles. Yippee! So they take his blood and as we wait some more, I say I bet they'll do a chest x-ray. Sure enough, knock, knock we need you to come to xray. Doc finally comes in and listens to his lungs, then says you have pnuemonia on the left side and your treatment is: are you ready for this?!: a shot in the ass and some antibiotics. Uh, needles again. So now he is doing better, and is interacting with the real world again. YEAH!!
To make all of this even better, I was feeling nauseated all day Friday and still had to take care of the kids and breastfeed Tatertot too. Thankfully I seemed to have only gotten the 12 hr crud. So now all is good and Fireball is on the mend!!

Mommies
I love to find blogs by moms; especially stay at home moms. I really like to read about their days, they seem to be pretty much like mine. Sometimes they make me feel better about my day and sometimes they just make me laugh until I have tears in my eyes. I have recently found a blog by a stay at home mom who is my age and is going on her 5th year of marriage with her husband; same as me and my husband. She had 3 kids, while we only have 2. But today I read her blog that listed things a person didn't know about her and the first thing was that she doesn't like odd numbers. So weird!!! I hate odd numbers too, go figure. It's like we were separated at birth!!
Ask my husband, he thinks I am crazy because I hate to eat anything in odd numbers. I can not eat skittles, m&ms, anything like that in odd numbers. He used to give me things like those mentioned above in odd numbers when we were first dating and then refuse to give me one more so that I could have even numbers. I know: Anal Alice. I have a bit of OCC I think. I favor my right hand and side of my body. Like when I put socks on, which is rare, I always put the right one on first. Anyways, enough about how crazy I can be. I just hope this wackiness doesn't rub off on my children. Is it genetic? Let's hope not.
I hope that you all will check out her blog (http://corineryan.blogspot.com) and see some of the similarities between us. Maybe I'm silly in thinking there are some but see for yourself. I really think stay at home moms should reach out to each other and support each other; because believe it or not, it is the hardest job you can have. Stay at home moms are at the highest skill at the lowest paying job. But the benefits are better than any other job.

Early Morning Surprise
What is the worst sound you can wake up to? A two year old coughing and then you realize he has thrown up in his bed. I was fortunate enough to hear the coughing and yakking sound through the monitor in Mr. Beans' room. It was 6:15 am and my husband was up already dealing with work issues due to having the pager from work. I was half asleep nursing Tatertot in our bed when I heard the "yak" from hell. I yelled to Fireball to go check on him, I wasn't far behind and sure enough he had gotten sick on his pillow. Poor baby was shaking and had vomit on his jammies. He asks "What happy?" That's his way of saying what happened. Too cute!! Fireball took care of the sheets while I cleaned Mr. Beans up. We took him into the living room to rock him on my lap. I seem to have a sixth sense about my children and their need to vomit. I can tell when they are going to get sick. Sure enough Mr. Beans got sick again in the living room. This time it was my turn to clean it up. Poor Fireball has a weak constitution for toddler vomit. He said he was nauseas so I got a turn at it. Then Tatertot decided to wake up. I changed her diaper and then again that feeling that he was going to vomit, picked him up and took him to our bathroom off of our bedroom to puke in the sink. This time it was just saliva, thank God. Finally, around 7:45 am Mr. Beans went back to bed until noon. Everyone else went back to sleep shortly after. Atleast it wasn't 2 am!

New Year
Hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve. What did you do with your leap second that was so graciously bestowed upon us? The local news stations have been running stupid segments asking people on the street what they would do with their leap second. I cleaned up Tatertot's spit up during my leap second. Jealous, huh? We stayed home with the kids for New Years Eve. Well, after we went to my grandmother's to have pizza or pi-pa as Mr. Beans calls it. So cute, right? It was her birthday. Afterwards, we came home and watched Dick Clark's show. It made me sad to see him and hear him that way. I actually cried, ask my husband, I'm a big cry baby. Even before we had kids. So atleast I got a Midnight kiss from both my kids and my husband. Yes, my children were up for midnight. Bad Mommy! So far the new year is going well. I finally took down the tree and all the decorations on Sunday. The hardest part was getting my husband to take them all down the the basement. He did finally on Monday. I have had to cut back on my Pepsi consumption; from 3 or 4 to 1 a day, the caffeine was keeping Tatertot awake and she wasn't getting her naps during the day so she was a bear all weekend. Now things are going well except the horrible headaches I have been getting. Ahh, so is the price we mommies pay for our children.
